Ante la propuesta (que quizá y ojalá luego no salga adelante)quería preguntar si nos cerrarian las puertas a todos los profesionales de enfermería que no tengamos este nivel de ingles o el equivalente a nivel 7 de IELTS.
A los hispi privados tambien afectaría?

En principio lo van a hacer, sólo se están planteando el cómo. Y es el NMC el que lo plantea, luego afectará tanto a públicos como a privados. El que no tenga el nivel, no podrá registrarse, luego no podrá ejercer.
Lo que no sabemos es ni que nivel va a ser, ni cada cuanto tiempo, ni si los que estamos en UK ya estaremos afectados. A finales de agosto sabremos más cosas.
A ver qué pasa.

No sé qué tipo de colegiación hay que hacer para Irlanda. Si es con NMC si, si no, supongo que a no ser que digan lo contrario, no.

We are introducing new language controls for EU nurses and midwives

From 18 January 2016 for the first time European trained nurses and midwives wanting to join the register will need to prove that they have the necessary knowledge of English to practise safely and effectively in the UK. We are not imposing a blanket language test on European trained applicants, but if they are unable to provide sufficient evidence of language skills – such as having trained or worked in an English-speaking country, they will be directed to undertake an English language assessment.

UK trained nurses and midwives who have completed our approved pre-registration course will automatically meet the English language requirements.

In addition, the legislation will give us a new basis for investigating registered nurses' or midwives' fitness to practise relating to patient safety concerns over their ability to communicate effectively in English.

The new requirements will act to together to strengthen public protection and ensure that we are compliant with recent changes in EU legislation.

Creo que sí, será un C1. Me parece lógico, la verdad.

El nivel va a ser más bien C2, un IELTS 7.0 como mínimo, hasta comentarios de compañeros ingleses dicen que son unos estándares altos.

I am a native English speaker: the exam will be easy for me, won't it?

Unfortunately, no. Achieving a score of 7.0 on the IELTS exam is actually quite difficult, even for native speakers. You should at least look at the IELTS website and buy a self-study book to work through for practice before you attempt the exam. The exam is very time pressured and you will need to do lots of practice to make sure you can get the exam done in the time you are allowed.

Veo bien que pidan un nivel pero me parece bastante alto, podría ser un b2 o incluso un c1 para justo comenzar.
